Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to consider a Resolution Authorizing Enactment and/or Extension of a Moratorium prohibiting the County from accepting applications for sketch plats or land disturbance permits, for a period of an additional one-hundred eighty (180) days, for residentially zoned properties that were rezoned prior to April 13, 2017. This moratorium, if enacted and/or extended on December 4, 2025, will allow additional time for the County to identify properties that were rezoned in the 15-year period prior to April 13, 2017, but never fully developed. This extension, if approved, will continue the existing Moratorium from December 4, 2025 through and including June 2, 2026. The properties subject to review will be examined to determine whether their existing zoning continues to be consistent with the County's comprehensive plan and overall land use vision or whether a rezoning is appropriate. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners' Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Cumming, Georgia 30040.
